Eötvös Loránd University is the largest university in Hungary. The Faculties taking part in the project are the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogy. Their main profile is educating in subjects related to human culture and languages and preparing for teaching activities in psychology and pedagogy. The curriculum of language majors includes classes about culture, literature, history, film and other subjects. In addition, a large number of students choose to work for a teaching diploma. The MA degree for this diploma according to the reform is being founded right now. The teaching curriculum includes general psychological and pedagogical subjects, as well as methodology in the students’s future subjects. The instruction follows a systematic training methodology, and it makes an increasing use of new technologies. In their final (4th or 5th) year, students also have their teaching practice in one of the training schools belonging to the university or in a placement school. Here they work under the guidance of experienced teachers, and are also coached by their respective university departments in collaboration with the schools. In September 2006 the Bologna reform was introduced, and the first BA course started. MA courses for teachers will focus on preparing students for teaching their two subjects.
